Richard’s main instruments are vocals, guitar and bass, with some keyboards. Richard played “Jeff Lynne” on stage for 4 years as part of “Big O and the Wilburys”, Traveling Wilburys tribute theatre show. Wanting to develop this further and increase the number of ELO songs performed, as well as tackle songs from The Beatles and their solo careers and songs that are connected to both Jeff and Paul, he has left the Wilburys tribute and teamed up with Matt, Bernard and Stuart to form ELO Beatles Beyond.
Richard is a full time professional musician, and can also be seen playing “George Harrison” in “The Pretend Beatles”, and “Tom Petty” in “The Petty Heartbreakers”. He also finds time to write songs, sing and play guitar with an original band called “Spring”, who have recorded seven albums to date.
A huge Paul McCartney fan, with an extensive collection of Beatles ceramic mugs, Matt sings, plays keyboards, guitar, bass and drums and has been songwriting, performing and releasing original music in professional bands since the heady days of Brit-pop. He is a successful composer writing music for the media and has written numerous themes for television, including primetime BBC and Channel 4 productions. Visit Matt’s website here.
Matt also joined the “Big O and the Wilburys” theatre show playing “George Harrison”, and has enjoyed helping to build the show into a nationwide success over the last 3 and half years. A versatile vocalist, he also deputises as “Paul McCartney” and “John Lennon” in “The Pretend Beatles”, and performs solo and in an acoustic duo with Bernard, “The Good Vibrations.”
Music engulfed Stuart from a very early age. His parents spotted his talent early, and with the help of some quality earplugs they encouraged and supported him to follow his passion.
In the late 80’s & early 90’s Stuart spent much of his time with Midlands based band ‘One on One’. The band played many local gigs and recorded original material. Some of Stuart’s influences include Steve Jansen, Simon Phillips, Vinnie Coliauta and Stewart Copeland.
In the early 90s he decided to try something new & turned towards the session circuits. He soon found himself with chart topping band KWS, known for their song “Please don’t go”. This then led to resident spots at Ronnie Scott’s in Birmingham with the well-respected Curtis Little Band.
Stuart then moved on to the tribute scene with the very successful Robbie Williams tribute band ‘Live thru a lens’ whilst grabbing any corporate, wedding or pub gigs with his own bands. He has recently been recording at Abbey Road Studio’s laying down two tracks for a new album with senior recording Engineer John Barrett who has recorded for the likes of U2, Sting Seal, Arcade Fire……
From concert halls to festival stages, Bernard has spent the last 30 years performing live and loving guitar music. For nearly a decade he was the frontman for the UK’s leading Punk and New Wave tribute band and has just finished a four year stint as lead guitarist for a top Britpop tribute act. Bernard has remained a super-fan of the Beatles since age 7, when he would mime to I Saw Her Standing There with a tennis racket in place of a guitar!
